James P. Danford, age 67, of Toledo, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2008 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. He was born on February 15, 1941 to Daniel and Rosene (Knight) Danford in Toledo. Jim was employed with ANR Freight for more than 30 years, retiring in 2001. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran, serving his country proudly. Jim was a member and past commander with Conn Weissenberger Post #587, as well as a member of the color guard.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Suzanne (Leslie) Danford and his parents. Jim is survived by his children, Kim (Anthony) Sopko; James Danford, II; Lori (Philip) Knierim and Steven Danford; sister, Nancy (Maurice) Seiple; grandchildren, Anthony; Brittney; Janey; James; Aubrey; Matthew and Craig and many dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday from 2-8:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300)with Military Services at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Services will begin Thursday at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 10:00 a.m. at Catherine of Siena Parish, 4555 North Haven. Officiating will be Fr. Gary Walters.
In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
