James N Cook, age 88, of Toledo, joined his wife Karen in heaven on October 18, 2018 at home. James was born March 4, 1930 in Toledo to Ralph and Margarite (Dushanne) Cook.
James served in the Korean War as a Master Sergeant. His passion for his country was unmeasurable. He was a member of the 2nd Infantry Division.
After his tour with the military he married his beautiful wife Karen and they shared 54 years together. They had four wonderful children and enjoyed all the holidays especially Christmas. Jim loved taking his family to the lake; he had a great passion for boating and fishing. He loved playing Euchre and continued to do so with family and friends. Jim and Karen loved their time away together traveling especially the Casinos. Family and friend get-togethers were one of his most favorite times. This included bon fires, wine nights, darts, playing pool, and sharing his favorite music with all.
In addition to his parents, James was also preceded in death by his loving wife Karen; Son, James (Deb) Cook; Brother, Donald Cook and Michael Cook; Sister, Phyllis Hoepfl.
He will be missed greatly by his Daughter, Lynn (Keith) Johnston, Laurie (Rick) Ewing; Son, Daniel (Jackie) Cook; Brother, Ralph Cook; Sisters, Nancy Martin, Suzanne (Donald) Nowak; 14 Grandchildren; 31 Great-Grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive guests Friday, October 26, 2018 from 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Newcomer Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419) 473-0300. A Funeral Service will begin Saturday at 10:00 am. at the funeral home followed by a Graveside Service at Toledo Memorial Park.
