James W. "Jim" Beasley, age 70, of Toledo, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2006, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He was born on October 27, 1935, to Chester and Margaret (Delong) Beasley in Terre Haute, Indiana, where he resided until moving to Toledo in 1974. Jim was employed with Dana Corp. for 24 years, as the Safety and Environmental Manager until retiring. He was a member of North Pointe Church. Jim loved working on his model trains and watching Nascar, especially Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and Dale Jr. He also worked on the pit crew at Indianapolis for Sumar Racing in the 1950's. Most importantly he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister Carolyn Stamper and step-father Charles Hampe. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Patricia (Alvey) Beasley; children: Karen (Mark) McAtee, Jeffrey Beasley and Patrick (Teresa) Beasley; grandchildren: Jason (Kim), Amanda (C.J.), Nicholas, Erin, James and Colleen; great-grandchildren: Samantha, Anthony, Marcus and Alexandria; sister: Mary Lou Clayton; and brother: Larry Beasley.
The family will receive guests on Saturday, September 23, 2006, in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin at 4:00 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Brad Wotring.
