James Charles Badgett Sr., was born June 20, 1946, to Arnell and Howard Badgett of Holland, Ohio.
He attended Spencer Sharples School where he met his high school sweetheart, Winifred Shedick, which later married and has three children.
James later joined the Army, where he was a mechanic. He expressed his love for cars at a young age. As a young man, he achieved his goal of becoming owner and operator of Badgett's Automotive Repair, while also ranking number one as a top mechanic and front end specialist at Sears and Roebuck, where he also received many certificates and awards.
James was an outstanding father, brother, uncle, and friend and will be missed and remembered by many.
James leaves behind his children, Wanda Badgett, James Badgett Jr., Christopher Badgett, Nathanial Bonds, Rico Gaston, and Dillon Badgett; grandchildren, Jayvon Mixon, Jay Mixon Jr., Jayson Badgett, Jayvia Love, Hallie Turner, Thomas White and Corbin Gaston, as well as eleven great grandchildren. James also leaves behind his two brothers, Howard Badgett and Frank Badgett; sisters, Peggy Badgett, Bonnie Badgett, Jackie Smith, and Linda Parkinson, and a host of many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Rochelle Bradley and Rhoda Burgess; brother, Warren Badgett; lifelong friend and mother of his children, Winifred Badgett and his parents, Arnell and Howard Badgett.
