James A. Thompson, age 58, of Toledo, passed away Monday, August 10th, 2009. He was born August 22, 1950 to Wilbur and Louise (Marconet) Thompson in Dayton, Ohio. Jim graduated from Dayton Chaminade High School in 1968 and attended Wright State University. He was employed with ABC Auto Supply for 18 years. He was Past President and a dedicated member of the Men's Auxiliary of VFW Post #2898. Jim was also an avid Detroit Lions fan; passionate sports buff, and excellent card player. His terrific sense of humor and infectious laugh will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas D. Thompson. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Suzanne and Cecil Dunaway; numerous nieces and nephews and their families and a dear friend, Julie Blanton.
The family will receive guests Saturday from 2-6:30 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with services beginning at 6:30 p.m.
