James A. Sparks, Sr.

James A. Sparks, Sr., 72, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2013. He was born on September 15, 1940 to the late Martha and Alvin Sparks in Toledo, Ohio.
Jim was a proud veteran and served in the US Army, he was honorably discharged in 1961. He was a truck driver for several distribution companies, including Pepsi Cola and Pabst Blue Ribbon. Jim made many friends throughout his delivery stops and was well-known for his sense of humor. He was an avid card player and enjoyed watching sports, especially golf. Jim also loved listening to classic country music.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette and Ricky Marsh. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Laura Barron, James Jr. (Vicky), Donna (Steve) Walker, Philip, Mark (Roberta); 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive guests on Sunday, March 17, 2013 from 2-6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). A Funeral Service will begin at 6:00 p.m.
The family requests memorial donations be made to any VFW of the donor's choice.
