Jacques (Jack) H. Gross, Jr., age 63, of Maumee, Ohio passed away November 29, 2013 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg. He was born August 3, 1950 in Toledo to Jacques Sr. and Ethel (Kovach). Jack was employed with the Riverside Hospital for more than 29 years retiring upon closing of the hospital. A talented musician, Jack played in a variety of different bands, most recently with Radio Flyer.
Jack is survived by the love of his life, wife, Diana L. Gross; children, Christopher (Paulette) Gross, Nicholas (Michelle) Gross, Jennifer (Marlin) Herrick, Gregory (Jenny) Gross, Toni (Bruce) Durr, Kevin Tattersall, Lacey Tattersall, Paige Gross, Joseph Gross, mother, Ethel Smith; grandchildren, Christopher, Chelsea, Cheyeann, Bailey, Avery, Magdolna "Meg," Ariana, Ethan, Logan and Mason; siblings, Kenneth (Lou) Smith, Jr., William (Diane) Smith, Sheryl Hoffbauer, Linda Dean, Mike Smith, Barb (Wally) Neely, Claude Smith, Brenda Garzchowiak, Pam Spradlin-Smith, John (Teresa) Gross, Kenny (Kim) Gross, Mary (Dennis) Bailey, Beverly (Tim) Ladina, Toby (Martina) Gross, Donna (Gary) Lillard) and Gerald (Jodi) Gross; mother-in-law, Evelyn Lindhorst and aunt Jean. In addition to his father, Jack was preceded in death by his step-father, Kenneth Smith; father-in-law, Gale Lindhorst and brother-in-law, Paul Dean.
The family will receive guests Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo (419-381-1900). Memorial services will begin Thursday at 4:00 pm. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in Jack's memory.
