Jacquelyn Marie Harris, affectionately known as "Jackie," passed away peacefully at her home in Luna Pier, Michigan, on November 12, 2024, at the age of 74. Born on November 21, 1949, in Toledo, Ohio, Jackie lived a life defined by her devotion to her faith and her passionate commitment to supporting and empowering other women.
A devoted Christian, Jackie approached life with a spirit of resilience and independence, living on her own terms. She found joy in the company of her family and friends, often indulging in her love for playing cards with her beloved grandchildren and cherishing the moments spent crafting. Jackie's appreciation for beauty was evident in her fondness for sunsets at Luna Pier, where she found peace and inspiration. Jackie was passionate about helping and supporting other women in Recovery.
Jackie was a proud mother to three daughters: Amy Susan Murphy, Jennifer Paige Baum, and Rebecca Rose (Angelo) Molina. She also warmly welcomed numerous grandchildren into her life: Andrew (Megan) Murphy, Seth (Olivia Cook) Murphy, Shawn (Rachel) Morris, Dominic Gluza, Paige (Corey) Baum, Danika Boudrie, Vega Cochran, Lyra Cochran, Madeline Molina, and Harmony Molina, . She delighted in her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother to Kaelana Morris and a baby boy who is on the way, embracing each moment with love and joy.
She is survived by her siblings, Joanne (Mike) Vannes, Michael (Cindy) Pohorecki, Diane "Dede" Porter, and Julie Pohorecki (Barb) and many nieces and nephews who will miss her deeply.
Jackie's legacy is enriched by the memory of her late son, Luke Hunter Harris, and departed family members, including her brothers Tim Pohorecki and Alan Porter (brother-in-law), as well as her parents, Joseph and Patricia Pohorecki.
As we reflect on Jackie’s life, we remember her as a woman of strength, compassion, and unwavering support to those around her. Her spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. Services will be Private for her family. Burial will be at Restlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Paula's House P.O. Box 2002, Monroe, MI 48161.
