Jacqueline R. (Guhl) Sloan, age 79 of Toledo, Ohio, died April 24, 2017 peacefully at home. She was born in Toledo on July 27, 1937 to the late Henry and Ethel (Brenner) Guhl. She graduated from Libbey High School, class of 1955, and later taught mathematics there for 24 of her 28 years in teaching. Jacquie earned her Bachelor and Master Degrees in Education at the University of Toledo.
She was survived by her son, Jack Jr. of Berne IN; daughters, Jerianne Giguere and Jennifer Fogle both of Delta OH; grandchildren, Tyler Sloan, Corbyn (Jay) Krzeminski, Brody Sloan, Peyton Sloan, Gail Fogle IV and Jessalyn Giguere; sisters, Barbara Horen and Sandra Polk; brother, Dennis Guhl; best friends, Rose and John Sparvero of Pittsburgh
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, of 53 years, Jack Sr., her parents; step mother, Luella (Smith) Guhl; sisters, Eileen Leruth, Sonia Lashley and Bernice Guhl. Jacquie was a member of Echo Meadows Church of Christ; she served the lord by doing for others until her recent decline heath wise. She truly adored every one of her grandchildren.
Family will be receiving guests Sunday, April 30, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Monday, May 1, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 9:00 a.m. - 11 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Garden.
