Jacob "Jack" Fritscher, age 74, a lifelong resident of Toledo, passed away Sunday, February 5th, 2017 at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital. He was born July 15th, 1942 in Toledo to Jacob and Agnes (Behan) Fritscher. Jack was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and went on to attend the University of Toledo. He was also a proud member of the U.S. Army and felt it was an honor to serve his country. Jack was employed in the Trucking Industry for more than 20 years retiring in 2010. He and his wife, Mary Sue were long time Auxillary members of VFW #2829, as well as, parishioners of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Jack was an avid hunter but his passion was fishing. He treasured the time spent fishing his favorite water holes with his buddies, sharing many a "fish stories". But most importantly, Jack was a loving husband, father and grandfather leaving his family fifty years of cherished memories.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Mary Sue (Willhauck) Fritscher; children, Julie (Gary) Youssef of California, Joseph (Dawn) Fritscher of Versailles, Ohio and Jill (Jim) Jensen of Toledo, Ohio; grandchildren, Haley (Matt) Jaramillo, Jordan Youssef, Katelynn, Tara and Joseph Fritscher and Brody and Teagan Jensen; Jack also leaves to cherish his memory his dear friends Rich & Pat Ramer and his best "canine buddy" Dakota.
The family will receive guests Wednesday, February 8th, 2017 from 4-8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, NW Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Thursday at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Celebration at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 4227 Bellevue Rd., Toledo beginning at 10:00 a.m.
