Jacqueline "Jackie" Coulter, age 79, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 11, 2018. She was born May 3, 1938 in Florala, Alabama to the late Freeman and Nancy Herring. Jackie was a long-time resident of Toledo where she lived since leaving her childhood home in Montgomery, Alabama at the age of 18. She graduated from Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School in 1956 and retired from Chrysler as a Personnel Manager. She later became a licensed realtor for Cavelier Realty for many years.
To her family, "Nana" was a strong and passionate matriarch. Nothing was more important to her than keeping her family close, and keeping them fed with cornbread dressing, collard greens, and sweet tea. When she was able, Nana really enjoyed line dancing, taking a motorcycle out for a spin, going out for breakfast, and vacationing with her girls.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Coulter. Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Debra (Michael) Maluchnik, Denise (Rick) Peiffer; Loni Peace; her daughters father, Frank Joy; brothers, Buddy Herring and Charles Herring; four nephews, Steve, Seth, Jake and Jeff; eight grandchildren, Bree Vasquez (Brian), Joshua (Maria) Maluchnik, Matthew (Nicole) Maluchnik, Angela (Austin) Folley, Stephanie (Robert) Scott, Rick Peiffer, Kayla Peiffer and Michael Garrett (Nicole); 12 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive guests on Friday, March 16, 2018 from 3-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home - Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Her Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2018 in the funeral home.
