Jack W. Henning, age 78, of Toledo, passed away Friday, April 18, 2008 surrounded by his loving family in the Toledo Hospital. He was born August 1, 1929 to Harold and Margaret (Marquardt) Henning in Toledo. Jack was employed in the carpentry industry through the Carpenters Union Local 248 for more than 50 years, retiring in 1993. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Seabees. Jack graduated from Scott High School where he played football and basketball. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his brother, Rolland Henning. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Melba (Clay) Henning, children, Angelia (Matt) Schreiner; Jody David (Buffy) Henning; Jack Robert Henning and Sue (Tom) Morrissey; grandchildren, Tommy (Cassandra) Morrissey; Aaron Morrissey; Evan Schreiner; Brian Morrissey; Michael Henning and Eric Morrissey; in-laws, Delores Henning; Virgil (Mable) Bryan and William (Ali) Clay and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests Monday from 5-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Steve Hobbins. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
