Jack Luettke, a beloved educator and coach, passed away peacefully on September 21 2024, in Temperance, Michigan. Born on November 6, 1948, in Toledo, Ohio, dedicated life to inspiring and the next generation of students and athletes.
Jack was a proud graduate of Whiteford school system and furthered his education by earning a bachelor's degree at Eastern Michigan University. He committed himself to high school education and coaching, imparting wisdom and guidance to countless students over his impressive career. For over forty years, he held the role of head coach for both football and baseball at Whiteford High School and also served as an assistant football coach at Bedford High School. His dedication to the game earned him a well-deserved place in the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame, a testament to his impact and legacy within the community.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jack was known for his competitive spirit and his love for connecting with others. As a cherished member of the Theta Chi Fraternity, he fostered lasting friendships and camaraderie among his brothers. Jack was also an enthusiastic participant in trivia games and fantasy football, enjoying the fun and friendly competition they brought to his life. Music was a significant part of Jack's world; he found joy singing with the Historic St. Patrick's Choir, where his passion for harmony radiated.
Jack's life was enriched by the love of his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Kathy Luettke, along with his children: Matt Luettke and Tricia White, Mike Luettke, Maura Luettke and husband Adrian Johnson, special daughter Denise Luettke. He cherished his role as a grandfather to Matt Luettke Jr., David Tardich Jr., Brittany Sedlar, Tony Tardich, Sydney Johnson, A.J. Johnson, Elise Johnson, and Kaleb Johnson. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Christopher and Cameron Sedlar, as well as David Tardich III and Zoey Tardich.
A visitation in honor of Jack Luettke will be held on October 12, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northwest Toledo, located at 4150 W Laskey Rd, Toledo, Ohio.
Jack Luettke leaves behind a legacy of passion, dedication, and kindness, remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His contributions to education and athletics will continue to resonate within the community for years to come.
