Jack L. Buchhop
Jack L. Buchhop, age 62, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2006 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He was born November 21, 1943 to Luther and Kathryn (Radloff) Buchhop in Toledo. Jack was a longtime resident of West Toledo, recently moving to Erie Michigan. He was a District Manager with the Toledo Blade for more than 38 years. Jack was a 1961 graduate of Devilbis High School and remained active with the Alumni Association. He was a longtime member of Augsberg Lutheran Church and recently a member of St. Petri Lutheran Church. Jack was active in many groups including, GASP, Meals on Wheels, Junior Achievement, the Old Newsboys and the Toledo Newspaper Guild. He was also an avid Toledo Mud Hens fan, holding season tickets for many years, always looking forward to the next game. Jack will be remembered by his more than 100 Blade Carriers over the years for teaching them to be responsible and have a good work ethic and for being a positive role model for them.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Jack is survived by his loving daughter; Heather "Mindy" (Eddie Sheller) Martin of Perrysburg; sister, Carol (Donald) Samuelson of Defiance; grandchildren, Allison; Anderson and Jackson; and many dear friends.
The family will receive guests Friday from 2-8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be Pastor David Vinciguerra. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
