J ÂStephenâ Bond

Steve Bond, age 81, passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021, in Sylvania, Ohio. He was born June 2, 1940, in New Castle, Indiana to the late Jack and Sarah Bond. Steve met his predeceased beloved wife of 50 years, Mary (Hofbauer) Bond while both were working at the former Tiedtke's Department Store. He enjoyed insurance sales and was an insurance sales agent for many years.
Steve made lifelong friends with the many organizations he belonged to and was loved by all. He was a member of the Elks Lodge where he achieved the highest honor of Exalted Ruler. Steve was also an active member with the Masons, Shriners, American Legion, Eagles and Moose and was the Past Commander Legion of Honor.
He is survived by his brothers, Randy (Jenny) Bond of Columbus, OH and Bob (Denise) Bond of Osprey, FL; sister-in-law, Joyce Bond of Huntersville, NC and sister Mary Sue (Bruce) Forni of Grosse Pointe Farms, MI; sisters in law, Jane (Don) Schnell of Indianapolis, IN and Robin (Dick) Mullet of Warsaw, OH.
Funeral Services were held on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at the Ottawa Hills Memorial Park in Toledo, Ohio. The Elks Exalted Rulers performed a poignant ceremony. The Rev. Michael A. Geiger officiated.
The family requests any memorials that are made in Steve's memory to be made to the Elks Lodge at 139 W Wayne St. Maumee, OH 43537.
