Ivan E. Cole

Ivan E. "Bud" Cole, age 85, of Hudson, MI, passed away at his daughter's home on Friday, May 27, 2016 with his loving family by his side. He was born on August 20, 1930 to Valentine I. and Mabel (Rawson) Cole in Toledo, Ohio. Bud was a graduate of DeVilbiss High School and following high school he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Darlene P. (Gibson) Cole on March 20, 1954 in Toledo. Throughout his entire life Bud was a talented carpenter and it truly was his passion. In his younger years he was a Mason, actively involved with Boy Scouts of America, enjoyed spending time on the lake and fishing. After retirement Bud and Darlene settled in the home that he built in Hudson, MI on Lime Lake.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 62 years, Darlene; children, Jon (Donna) Cole, Dennis (Phyllis) Cole, Kathy (Lee) Anderson, Ivan (Sam) Cole and Sandy (Larry) Kowalski; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; siblings, Marge, Ellen and Betty (Jack); dear friend of many years, Art Sell.

The family will receive guests on Sunday, June 5, 2016 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Monday, June 6, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Dale Hedblad. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.

Memorial Contributions may be made in Bud's memory to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
