Irving Edward Sutton, of Toledo, Ohio, departed this world on September 11, 2024, in the comfort of his home. He was born April 5, 1939, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Clarence and Leona (Lewis) Sutton.
Throughout his remarkable life, Irving dedicated himself to a 21-year tenure in the Air Force. He wore his service as a badge of honor, treasuring the values of integrity and selflessness. Following the Air Force, he worked at Noron Heating and Air.
Irving’s passions extended beyond family; he found joy in collecting stamps, puzzles, and coins. Each piece of his collection told a story, much like his own life's journey-every item carefully chosen, reflecting a curiosity and appreciation for the world's intricacies. An evening spent with Irving could never feel dull; each moment was enriched with shared laughter, discussions both thought-provoking and light-hearted.
At home, Irving blossomed into what he considered his proudest achievement - being a devoted family man. He doted endlessly on his loved ones, pouring forth a profound affection that formed the core of his being. Those close to him will remember his selfless acts, the warmth of his heart, and a calm presence that made every gathering feel like a sacred celebration.
His personality shone bright-generous and loving with a kindness that enveloped everyone in his vicinity. To say he would do anything for those he loved wouldn't merely be an exaggeration; it was the very essence of who he was. Irving's years were beautifully woven with threads of love, kindness, and unwavering generosity.

Those left to forever cherish his memory are his loving children, Tracey Sutton, Brian (Rachel) Sutton, and Jenny Sutton; grandchildren, Gage (Grace), Gabriella, Graden, Tyler, Alexandrea, and Alissa; five great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Alice Sutton.
In addition to his parents, Irving was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Patricia Sutton; sons, Carl and John Sutton; and siblings, Ella Smothers, Daniel Sutton, and Paul Sutton.
