Irezetta Jones-Hamilton

Irezetta Jones-Hamilton, was born Irezetta Myers, in Montgomery, Alabama to the late Clifford and Louise Myers. She, came to Toledo, OH, in 1945, with her sister Delores Myers.

Irezetta was a member of the First Church of God, in Toledo, Ohio, for over 30 years. She made a host of friends from her Church Cell group, where she was a member for over 15 years. Irezetta first attended North Side Church of God, with her Aunt Odies B. and John Early. They were responsible for bringing the family to Toledo, Ohio, from Alabama, in 1945.

Irezetta, always had a love for children, she was an Elementary School Teacher, and Reading Specialists, for seventeen years, in the Toledo Public School System, before retiring. Irezetta was known from her motherly was and endless compassion. She fostered to over 15 children, and many others through Children's Services for over 20 years. After retiring mom started a group home for elderly people, a restaurant, and became a foster parent, that continued until a few months ago.

Left to cherish Irezetta's memory are her children, Tracy Jones, Bradley Jones, Stephanie Jones, Daphne Jones, Lisa Jones, Sandra Jones, Curtis (Jenny) Jones, Christina (Terrell) Jones, Christopher Jones, Ryan Myers, and Brandy Myers; step-children, Donna Hamilton, Tarryl (Debbie) and Scottie Hamilton; grandchildren, Scottie Hopings, Bradley Jr., Antoine Jones, Kesha (Jovan) Douglas, Tiffany Taylor, Kenny, Avalon Price, Jalen Jones, and Jazmine Jones; great-grandchildren, Tracy Jr., and Heaven Jones; sisters, Annie (James) Fitzpatrick and Lisa Myers; cousins, Keesha, Kerwin (Madelyn), and Richard Manning; special friends, Frances Benford, Nancy Guilliod, Barbara Allison, and Annette Hannibal; and many nieces, nephews, and a host of loving friends and family.

Irezetta was preceded in death by her daughter, Camille Jones; grandson, Kemonte Jones; siblings, Clifford Jr. Myers, Freddie Myers, Delores Swain, Jacqueline Robinson, Brown Myers, Catherine Myers, and Gwendolyn Rodgers; and adopted sister and bestie, Romona Manning.

Irezetta left a legacy of love for us to follow. She was a giver from the heart and never saw fault in anyone. She always saw the good.

Family will be receiving guests from 9:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. on Monday, December 28, 2020 at Newcomer Funeral Home - West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Road, Toledo, Ohio 43617 (419 392 9500). Irezetta will be laid to rest at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
