Ila R. Geoffrion

Ila R. Geoffrion, age 85, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Hickory Ridge Nursing Home with her family by her side. She was born on June 27, 1926 to Leo and Margaret (Zenk) Bettinger in Berkey, Ohio. Ila was a longtime member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed gardening, working Bingo and doing craft shows. Ila was very personable and loved being with her friends and family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence "Kern" Geoffrion; children, "Baby", Susan, Mark and Doug Geoffrion; and siblings, Bernard, Gerard, George, Rita, Norma, Janet and Joseph. Ila is survived by her loving daughter, Julie (Kenneth) Peace; granddaughters, Gretchen and Mindy Peace; sister, Teresa Vandecaveye; sisters-in-law, Ursula Brown, Ruth Bettinger and Beverly (Frank) Viertlebeck; brother-in-law, Howard (Colleen) Laser; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends in St. Pete, Florida.

The family will receive guests from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Regina Coeli Catholic Church, 530 Regina Pkwy., Toledo, OH 43612, with a Memorial Mass beginning at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be private in the spring. The Newcomer Funeral Home (419-473-0300) assisted the family with professional services.
