Ida Turner

Ida Bell Turner, age 89, of Toledo, passed away Friday, September 25, 2015 at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania. Ida was born June 14, 1926 in Uniontown, AL to Albert and Inez (Jones) Turner.
Ida joined Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in 1945 where she was the Superintendent of the Sunday School, Choir President, Mission President and a pianist.
She served mankind through her impeccable skills as a health care professional for over 40 years; having retired from Toledo Hospital in 1986.

In addition to her parents, Ida was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Ellis Turner, her sisters: Inez Stallings, Marie Sullivan and Sallie Gibson; brother Albert Turner, Jr.; son in law, Jonathan C. Jones; granddaughters: Michelle Turner and Collette Williams; 2 infant great grandchildren. She is survived by her children: Lillie Lanier, Wilbert (Joyce) Turner, Linda Turner, Patricia Jones, Ellis Edward (John) Turner, and Pamela (Andre') Threats; 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren; sisters: Minnie Linzy, Estena (Jesse) Jones, and Mary Cabbil; brother, Isaiah (Josephine) Turner; sister in law, Eloise Turner; brother in law, Robert Sullivan.

Viewing starts at 2 PM and family will receive friends from 6 - 8 PM. on Friday October 2, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. 419-381-1900. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 11 AM. with viewing 1 hour prior to services at Warren AME Church 915 Collingwood Blvd. Toledo. Interment to follow at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
