Ida Mae(Rahe)Lanum, age 79, of Swanton, formerly of Toledo and Spartanburg, SC, passed away Thursday, December 8th, 2005 in Harborside of Swanton Care Center. She was born May 6, 1926 to Edward and Lauretta (Duennisch) Rahe in Toledo. Ida Mae was a 1944 graduate of Woodward High School, where she was active for many years on the Reunion Committee. While living in Toledo, she was employed by Freeman Crampton, a Patent Attorney. Ida Mae and her husband, John, moved to Spartanburg, SC, where they made their home for almost 30 years. There she was employed with Michelin Tire Company and was also a founding member and past president of the ABWA and the Altar Guild of St. John's Lutheran Church. Ida Mae was a 50 year member of St. Luke's Hospital Auxillary, as well as the Mary Martha Guild through St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the ABWA, all of Toledo. After retiring, Ida Mae volunteered for the Red Cross and Mary Black Hospital in Spartanburg, SC.
In addition to her parents, Ida Mae was preceded in death by her husband of 52 ½ years, John L. Lanum and infant son, Bruce. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Vance of Metamora; grandchildren, Jared (Danyel); Morgan and Adam and Jeremy Vance; great grandchildren, Emma and Landen Vance.
The family will receive guests Monday from 3-8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Pastor Mary Sullivan.
