Howard E. Terrill, Jr.

Howard "Gene" Terrill, Jr., age 78, of Archbold, formerly of Toledo, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 2, 2022 at ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital with his loving daughter and brother by his side. He was born on January 9, 1943 to Howard Sr. and Bette Terrill in Pennsylvania. Gene was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Vietnam War on the U.S.S. Forrestal. He enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid fisherman and golfer. In retirement he worked at Cabela's, a job he truly loved where he worked in the fishing department. Gene had a dry sense of humor, had a love of music and a knowledge of all things. He was also an avid reader and could rattle off any odd facts at any time. Gene's quick wit, spirit and caring nature will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Terrill, who preceded him in December 2019. Left to cherish his memory are his only daughter, Amy (Joe) Piorkowski; grandchildren, Aaron (Morgan) Piorkowski and Emilee (Mitch Bachman) Piorkowski; great-granddaughter, Yetta; brother, Frank (Kay) Terrill; nephew, Matt (Jackie) Terrill; niece, Jennifer (David) McCoy; and great-nephews and great-nieces, Luke, Giada, Sarah and Ari; and the many friends he met at Cabela's.

At this time there will be no visitation for Gene. A Celebration will be held at a later date in the spring.
