Howard W. "Cherokee Jack" Morgan, Jr., age 74, of Toledo, passed away peacefully June 24, 2020 at the Toledo Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 15, 1946 to Howard Sr. and Elsie (Blunt) Morgan in Walker, Louisiana. Cherokee Jack was a truck driver throughout his career until retiring. He enjoyed riding his Harley, fishing and taking walks. Cherokee Jack liked spending time with his family and catching up. His smile, spirit and caring nature will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Charlie and James Morgan; granddaughter, Angel Marie; and step-sons, Jerry Lee Mason and Jesse James Mason. Cherokee Jack is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Gannett Morgan; children, Anna (Reed Ardoin) Morgan, Gary Morgan and Melissa Morgan; step-son, David Mason; grandchildren, Nicholas, Heather, Aaron, Isaiah, Elijah, Nevaeh, Stephanie, and Stephen; great-grandchildren, Toby, Jayden, Kyson and Amelia; sister, Darlene (Leonard) Edwards; brothers-in-law, Pat (Kathy) Ottinger, Ralph Ottinger, Danny Ottinger, Kenny Ottinger, Bobby Ottinger, David Ottinger and James Johnson; sisters-in-law, Kathy Ottinger, Becky Ottinger, and Rose Ottinger; and many other family members and dear friends.
Per Cherokee Jack's wishes there will be no visitation and a Private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Newcomer – Northwest Chapel, Toledo (419-473-0300) assisted the family with professional services.
Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the family or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
