Hilario "LaLo" Garcia, age 90, of Toledo, formerly of Adrian, MI, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio - Toledo. He was born on January 14, 1928 to Francisco and Luisa (Ibarra) Garcia in New Braunfels, Texas. In his younger years, LaLo played for the American Latin League Adrian Cardinals where he was an umpire and catcher. LaLo worked for the Toledo Blade as a driver from 1971 - 1996, retiring after 25 years of service. When he wasn't taking care of his family he enjoyed visiting with his friends and gathering with them at the local VFW's where he was a social member.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Mary Anna Garcia, Eddie Garcia, John Garcia and Steve Garcia; grandchildren, Salena Harman, Carissa Martin, Alina Garcia and Abby Garcia, John and Jared Garcia; great-grandchildren, Garrett, Grant, Gracen, Teddy and Rilee; sister, Katherine Garcia; sister in law, Juanita Garcia; many nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Guillermo Garcia, Belen Stinson, Frank Garcia and Delia Ramirez.
The family will receive guests from 12:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Newcomer - Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with his Memorial Service starting at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
