Herman F. Nitschke, Jr.
In sickness and health, till death do us part, Herman F. Nitschke, Jr., 81 left this life for life eternal on November 3rd, 2004 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. Herman was born February 8, 1923 to Herman E. and Estelle (Krauss) Nitschke in Fremont, Ohio. He was a 1941 graduate of Macomber High School. Herman married Hilda Jean (Ducey) July 6th, 1945. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. Herman was a retiree from Toledo Public Schools. He love his home, flowers and cars. As an avid car buff, he had many fond memories of restoring cars and driving with his brothers and friends.
Herman is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Hilda Jean; beloved daughter, Debra (Rev. Keith) Hohly of Overland Park, KS.; grandchildren, Ben; Bethany and Danielle Hohly; big brother, Eugene Nitschke of Kerville, TX. and daughter-in-law, Yucha Deane Nitschke of NY. Herman was preceded in death by his brothers, Lyle and Paul Nitschke and son, Mark Nitschke.
Friends may call Friday from 4-8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer-Farley Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) and Saturday from 12-1:00 p.m. at Augsburg Lutheran Church, 1342 W. Sylvania Ave. Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in the church. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
Our family can't name all the caregivers, family and friends that loved and spoiled Herman during his illnesses, but you know who you are and will always hold a very special place in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to Northwest Ohio Hemophilia Treatment Center, NW Ohio Hospice or to Augsburg Lutheran Church.
Herman's greatest moment in life was his death. He found comfort and peace knowing his life was in the hands of the Lord.
