Herbert E. Williams
Herbert E. Williams, age 81 of Temperance, Michigan went home to be with the Lord Saturday, April 24, 2004 in his home. He was born July 31, 1922 to Truman and Alma (Ream) Williams in Ada, Ohio. Herb was employed with Nicholson Concrete as Plant Manager for many years retiring in1981. He was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran, serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Herb was a High Speed Radio Operator and received two bronze stars. After his service in the army, he continued in amateur radio operations in his spare time. Herb also enjoyed golf.
In addition to his parents, Herb was preceded in death by his son, Larry Williams; granddaughter, Laura Benien and sister, Irene Popella. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 62 years, Marian E. (Gruber) Williams and daughters, Linda (Bill) Meyer of Temperance and Lori (Ken) Sorge of Samaria and daughter-in-law, Lesta Williams of Toledo. Also surviving are grandchildren, Larry and Todd; Jim, Amy and Neil and Chad, numerous great grandchildren, sister, Margaret Hordak and brother, Loren Gard.
The family will receive guests Wednesday from 2-8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer-Farley Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will be Thurday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Andy Hill. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
