Herbert Gonyer

Herbert L. Gonyer, age 91, of Toledo, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2007 in St. Anne's Hospital. He was born March 26, 1916 to Maxson "Mike" and Ina (Hunt) Gonyer in Findlay. Herbert was employed with National Supply for 20 years and then went on to work for Toledo Public Schools for 22 years. After retiring, Herb worked at Inverness and Highland Meadows Country Clubs for another 10 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and traveling. He was an outgoing person who enjoyed the company of others.
Herb was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Belva Gonyer and his parents, Mike and Ina Gonyer. He is survived by his children: Shirley (Bobby) Clark, Jane (Jim) Saltzman, Bob (Kay) Gonyer, Jim (Linda) Gonyer and Peggy Stalder; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive guests Friday from 2-8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor David Claassen. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
