Helen Parker

Helen E. Parker, age 84 of Temperance passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 surrounded by her family at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. She was born August 8, 1926 to Edward and Helen (Carey) King in Toledo. She graduated from Jesup W. Scott High School. Helen retired from Toledo Hospital where she had worked as a unit clerk. She previously owned High Hope Horse Farm for 20 years. Helen loved caring for the horses and she also enjoyed riding at Oak Openings Park. In her spare time she loved listening to talk radio, painting ceramics and crocheting afghans.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three sisters, Joan and Ethel and Barbara Munson. Left to cherish her memories is her sister, Lillian Sharp; dear friend, Billie Samson; Sharon Starker and all of her Tuesday evening quilting friends; many nieces and nephews and son, Gene Rego.

The family will receive guests Saturday from 4-8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 2 – 8:00 p.m. Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). The family will also receive guests Monday from 10 – 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
