Helen (Laux) Davis, age 87, died peacefully, Sunday, June 30, 2024 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Sylvania. She was born February 6, 1937 to Lawrence and Gertrude Laux. Helen married Donald Davis on October 1, 1959, and they were married 52 years. She was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church for more than 60 years and was active in the Altar & Rosary Society, Salesian Club, and KC-Ettes. Helen graduated from Burnham High School in 1955, and attended Bowling Green State University. Helen worked a number of clerical and managerial positions throughout her career before retiring from B. Dalton Books.
Helen loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, and friends. Helen enjoyed painting ceramics and was proud of her hand painted holiday village containing more than 100 buildings and figurines. Helen also enjoyed flower gardening, playing cards, and luncheons with friends. Helen had a quick wit and a dry sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; sisters, Mary Angela Rowe and Ethel Sturtz. Helen is survived by her sons, Gregory, Jeffery and Douglas; grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew (Kylie), Tyler (Therese) and Katelyn (Billy); brother, Donald (Loretta) Laux; many nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Laura Jensen.
The Funeral Mass will be held Monday, July 8, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church, Toledo. The family will receive guests one hour prior to the Mass at 9:00 a.m. Helen will be laid to rest with Donald at Calvary Cemetery following Mass.
