Helen Leota Goeder

Helen Leota Goeder, 95, of Delta, Ohio went to meet her Lord Jesus on Saturday, September 16, 2023. The daughter of Adeline and Truman Stambaugh she was born July 5, 1928 in Toledo, Ohio. She graduated from Woodward High School in 1946. At the age of 18 she married Darwin Harry Goeder on January 24, 1947. Darwin, who was her greatest love, passed away in May 1985.
Early in their marriage, she helped in their Sher-Go Jewelry Store. She was employed at the Franklin Ice Cream Shop, taught ceramics in her home and at the Toledo Public Schools. Helen was devoted to the First (EUB) and Somerset United Methodist Churches and had many friends there. She was known as "mom" to many of her children's friends and neighborhood children. She and her childhood friend, Tootie, went everywhere together. She provided coffee and tea to anyone who came over. No one left her company without a full meal and coffee.
The family vacations consisted of camping and going out on the family boat. While she did not know how to swim, she made all her children learn. She was married to a hunter, fisherman, a man who loved the lakes. She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and always wanted them around her. Dogs and cats were her next love. Pets were always in her house.
Helen is survived by her children Kathleen (Jim) Hosler, Phyllis (Larry) Campbell, Amy Jones, Nicholas ( Cheryl) Goeder, Scott (Missy) Goeder, Chuck (Therese) Stambaugh; brothers Don (Pat) Stambaugh, Von Stambaugh, Byron Stambaugh, and Dale Stambaugh; grandchildren Jeremy (Mary) Hosler, Joshua (Sarah) Hosler, James (Laura) Hosler II, Jennifer Campbell Schaefer, Beth (Jeremey) Wise, Dan Goeder, Rachel (Seth) Hill, Ruth (Robert) Key, Abigail (Lonnie) Key; Aaron (Emily) Sheets, Scott D Goeder, William Goeder, Mackenzie Goeder, Alysha (Chris) Paxson, Gwendolyn (fiancé Alex Hofner) Adkins; and 34 great-grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Adeline and Truman Stambaugh, brothers Hank and Gene.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 21, 2023 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM and a celebration of her life will be held Friday, September 22 at 11:00 AM at Newcomer 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, OH 43614.
