Helen E. Raines

Helen E. Raines, age 78, of Toledo, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg where she was surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 21, 1937 to Anderson and Alafair (McDaniel) Owsley in Monroe, MI. Helen enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking delicious meals for her family. She was a member of North Monroe Street Church God and was devoted to serving the Lord. Most precious to her was spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Charlene Maggard, Rena (Louis) Opre and Christina Tiller; grandchildren, Frank, Joe, Eric and Sierra; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Caleb, Dominic and Kylie; two sisters, Arzella and Wanda; two brothers, Robert and Kelsie; many nieces, nephews and church family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Charles Raines; parents and infant sister.

The family will receive guests on Monday, April 20, 2015 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Shelton Park Church of God, 8702 Douglas Rd., Temperance, MI 48182, with visitation one hour prior to services. Officiating will be Pastor Scott Isham. Graveside Services will be at 1:00 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle, MI.
