Toledo, Ohio

On Monday, July 29, 2024, Helen Louise (Fair) Bonner peacefully completed her earthly journey at the age of 83 after courageously battling a long illness. She passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family. Helen's life began in Memphis, Tennessee, on September 25, 1940, as the precious daughter of Daniel W. Fair and Ida B. (Robinson) Thomas. 

Upon discovering her deep faith, Helen embraced Christ as her Lord and Savior during her early years. In 1948, she moved to Toledo, Ohio, commencing her enduring commitment to fostering and supporting her family. Her union with Felton Bonner Sr. bore three beloved children: Timothy, Felton Jr., and Shantura. 

Helen Fair-Bonner was a woman of many talents and passions. She was an accomplished individual who attended Scott High School and went on to earn multiple certifications in floral and fine art design, showcasing her wide-ranging talents. She dedicated thirty years of her life to the automotive industry, gaining valuable field experience before retiring from Chrysler in 1997. Even in retirement, Helen embraced life with enthusiasm, indulging in her passions for traveling, gardening, shopping, interior design, and arts and crafts. Above all, she cherished her role as a loving grandmother to her grandchildren. 

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel W. Fair and Ida B. Thomas, her husband Felton Sr., her son Timothy, and her sister Delores Franklin. 

Helen's love for her family was boundless. Her enduring legacy of love and care will forever be cherished by her son, Felton Jr., her daughter, Shantura, her beloved grandchildren Timothy II, Joshua, Jovaun, Samia, and Jamond, as well as her cherished great-grandchildren Timothy III, Kelsi, Bentley, Adriel, and Ariah. In addition to her immediate family, she is survived by her sisters, Dianne Stewart and Denise Jackson, and brothers, Wesley Jr. (Ida) Thomas, and Jerry (Shenise) Thomas. Her abiding love and care will be deeply missed by her nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends. Her memory will serve as an enduring inspiration to us all.

Services for Helen will be Private. Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, Toledo (419-473-0300) assisted the family with professional services.
