Hazel Virginia Tremblay, age 96, of Toledo, passed away November 4, 2014 at Lutheran Village at Wolfcreek. Hazel was born February 22, 1918 in Lorain to Rollin and Caroline "Caddy" (Tucker) Zimmerman. She was employed with the Midland Ross company for more than 30 years before retiring. Hazel was a member of Olivet Lutheran Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. In her free time she enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping and traveling, sewing, enjoyed playing the organ and was an excellent cook. She was the best Mimmie in the world!
In addition to her parents, Hazel was also preceded in death by her loving husband Franklin, son Franklin Jr. "Buddy" and brothers Jesse and August Zimmerman. She is survived by daughter, Nannette C. Gillhouse, brother Rollin Zimmerman, granddaughters Suzan (Edwin) Smith, Dawn (Vincent) Tremblay-Recker, and Helen Gillhouse, grandsons Franklin (Cindy)Tremblay, Mark (Judy) Gillhouse, Andrew Gillhouse, eleven great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, and many friends.
The family will receive guests Monday, November 10, 2014 from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - NW Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at 10:00 am. in the funeral home followed by interment at Toledo Memorial Park.
