Hazel A. Prasek, age 84, passed away peacefully at the Arbors of Oregon on January 2, 2013. Born on August 6, 1928 as Gizella Oravetz, she later changed her name to Hazel. She was born to the late Geo and Julia Oravetz, who were of Hungarian descent. Hazel was married for 61 years to the late Joseph M. Prasek. Prior to her marriage to Joseph, she was a beauty operator in Toledo. Together they lived in West Toledo for nearly 57 years on Fenwick Dr.
Hazel leaves behind two daughters, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a special niece, Linda Love. She also leaves behind many loving friends that she made over her lifetime. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and her beloved dog, Peppy.
Hazel had a great love for life, laughter, wild colors, unique possessions; she loved to joke and shop and had a deep passion for animals. Hazel was very giving as well, often donating to causes she was passionate about.
She graduated from Central Catholic High School and The Toledo School of Beauty and was a longtime member of St. Clement Church.
Special thanks to Rose Wolf, The Kern Family and special friends, Mark Crosby and Joel Stuck, Jr., whom all made her last few difficult years much easier and happy. We all loved you so much and will always miss you. Special thank you to the staff at Arbor's of Oregon for their excellent care and also to Odyssey Hospice.
