Haskel R. "Hank" "Poppy", age 87, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2009 unexpectedly. He was born March 2, 1922 to Wilbur L. and Ruby (Sewell) Linticum in Athens, Tennessee. Hank loved to walk through the local parks enjoying the scenery as well as, collecting any discarded cans for recycle. He was truly an advocate for recycling and keeping the beautiful parks clean. Hank was affectionately known by his family as "Poppy" and he cherished the time he was able to spend with them, especially his grandchildren. In his younger years Hank was an avid fisherman, teaching his three daughters how to fish. He was also a longtime member of the Arrow Club. Hank was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper and a survivor of the Battle of the Bulge in WWII.
In addition to his parents, Hank was preceded in death by his loving wife of more than 24 years, Mary Evelyn Linticum at the young age of 44 and more recently his son-in-law and best friend, Bob Davis. He is survived by his loving daughters, Carolyn Sue (Alan) Young; Linda Davis and Brenda (George) Purnia of CO; 8 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren with one more on the way and his sister, Hazel Todd of Oregon, OH.
There will be a Private gathering for Hank's Family. The burial will take place at Toledo Memorial Park.
