Harvey N. "Pops" Popovich, age 69, of Toledo, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016 at the Toledo Hospital surrounded by loving family. He was born on August 24, 1947 to Charles and Hanna (Yingling) Popovich in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. Harvey retired from Johnson Controls in 2013 after 11 years of service. He enjoyed going to Sunny's Campground in Wauseon with family and friends. Harvey loved golfing, fishing, playing cards and going to the casino. He loved nothing more than the time spent with his family, especially his grandkids.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Dakota Heverly; and loving step-father, "Grandpa Jack" George DeHart. Harvey is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Martha Popovich; children, Lisa (Jeff), Harv Jr. (Jenn) and Michelle "Gooch"; grandchildren, Gregory, Kandie, Anthony, Austin, Kyla, Katelyn, Logan, Karley and Skylar; great-grandchildren, Delyla, Tucker, Makenna, Alayah, Amari and Jax; siblings, Charles, Barbara (Jim) and Lola; special nephews, Skip (Kim) and Lil Larry (Lynn); cousin, Jackie (Soup); and many other family members and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 2 – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider his wife, Martha.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the Toledo Hospital ER staff, especially nurse Emily for all of their love, care and support given to Harvey and his family through this difficult time.
