Harry J. Williams, age 89, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Friday, July 3, 2009 at Sylvania Care and Rehabilitation. He was born April 27, 1920 to Harry and Myrtle (West) Williams Sr. in Ashtabula, Ohio. Harry was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving our country proudly during World War II. He was employed as truck driver for over 20 years with the former Page Dairy and then worked in the vault at the former Toledo Trust for over 10 years until retiring. In Harry's retirement he enjoyed doing small engine repair. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife in their RV. Harry was an avid woodworker, always making something for someone. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ralph Williams and sister, Mary Muscato. Harry is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Irene Williams; daughters, Judith (Dean) Warner, of Lambertville, MI and Nancy (Joe) Carens, of Temperance, MI; grandchildren, Nancy (Bill), Kristie, Amy (Dan) and Donna (Ben); great-grandchildren, Mike, Mason, Andrew, Lucas, Nathanael, Eliana and Conor; and one great great-granddaughter.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
