Harry Daniel Szymkowiak

Harry Daniel Szymkowiak, age 77, of Toledo passed away peacefully January 30, 2008 at the Toledo Hospital. He was born on January 6, 1931 to Frank, Sr. and Lottie (Wozniak) Szymkowiak in Toledo. Harry married the love of his life, Joan Benner, on June 24, 1950. He retired after 25 years of service from the University of Toledo where he was an electrician. Harry was also a huge Toledo Rockets fan and an avid antique collector. Harry and Joan also enjoyed taking many bus trips to the casinos.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Frank, Jr., sister Elinore Kime and son-in-law, Larry Price. Harry Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Joan Szymkowiak; sons: Craig and Greg Szymkowiak; daughters: Renee (Robert) Fox, Pam Price and Dawn (Peter) Stevens; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Monday, February 4, 2008 in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service beginning at 2:00 p.m.
