Harriett E. Collins
Harriett E. Collins, age 90, formerly of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Saturday, January 22nd, 2011 at St. Therese Nursing Home, New Hope, Minnesota. She was born February 18th, 1920 to William and Grace (Gorgas) Hilliard in New Kensington, Pennsylvania. Harriett was a bookkeeper and cashier with the Kroger Company for many years.
In addition to her parents, Harriett was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Collins. She is survived by her loving son, Walter (Makie Shimoda) Collins, Granddaughters Sara, Elizabeth, and Grandson Walter C. Collins and Great Grandson Preston Thomas all of MN.
The family will receive guests Thursday from 3-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 4207 Laskey Rd. Toledo, Ohio 43623. Officiating will be Pastor Bruce Snyder. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
