Harriet Jean Boerst

Harriet J. Boerst, age 90, of Toledo, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Glendale Assisted Living. She was born on February 4, 1927 to Harry and Helen (Perry) Braker in Toledo, Ohio. Harriet and her husband, Ron, were longtime residents of the south end for over 50 years, living on Gordon Street.

Most important to Harriet was taking care of her family and she devoted herself to her family. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Harriet was a talented seamstress, awesome baker, especially her famous pie crust and traveling with her husband to the Army Reunions and Luncheons. She and her husband were longtime members of Trinity Lutheran Church and she looked forward preparing and volunteering for the annual sauerkraut supper.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Allen Boerst and Nancy (Don) McKenzie; daughter in law, Linda Boerst; grandchildren, Brian (Kerry) Boerst, Sheryl (Steve) Catti, Tom (Carla) Boerst, Dawn and Tanya Boerst, Alex Talbot, Angel Morgan, Kim McKenzie, Amy (Brett) Kaplan and Stacy Hyde; many great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons. Greeting her in Heaven was her loving husband of 70 years, Ronald R. "Ron" Boerst and sons, Michael Boerst and Terry Boerst.

The family will receive guests on Friday, July 14, 2017 from 1-3:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Memorial Services will begin in the funeral home on Friday at 3:00 p.m.
