Harold West

Harold James "Jim" West, age 79, of Toledo, passed away, Monday, December 14, 2009 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center.

He was born on November 7, 1930 to Harold and Adele (Grone) West in Toledo, Ohio. Jim served his country in the United States Marine Corps, where he was a veteran of the Korean War. He had worked at Libby Glass for over 38 years as a mold maker, later retiring in 1987. Jim was currently a member of the American Legion Post 576 and 606. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Rose; son, Robert (Angela); granddaughters, Aimee (Brian) Heller, Andrea (Chris) Noward; Emily West; great-grandchildren, Mason and Hayden Heller and soon-to-be, Baby Boy Noward; brother, Russell West of East Port, Michigan. Preceding him in death are his parents; brother, Dave West; and sister, Lynn Armstrong.

The family will receive guests from 2-7:00 pm. Thursday, December 17, 2009 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo, OH (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date.
