Harold V. " Skinny" Adkins, age 65, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2007 in St. Anne Mercy Hospital. He was born February 9, 1942 to Lemuel and Irlee (Jackson) Adkins in Campbell County, Duff, Tennessee. Harold was employed with Commerce Paper Company for 30 years, retiring in 2000. He enjoyed camping and fishing in Morenci Michigan where he and his wife owned a camper for 14 years. He thought of his friends and neighbors there as family. Harold will be remembered by his family and friends as always having a smile on his face, a good sense of humor and a joke to share. He also enjoyed basketball and football, a good game of horseshoes and working on his and anyone else's golf carts.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his sister, Lucille Maiden. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Diane S. (McIlhargie) Adkins; son, Daryl A. (Jennifer) Adkins; daughter, Sheryl (Jerry Fultz) Medellin; grandchildren, Joshua Torres and Amanda Medellin; sisters, Jewell (James) Kidwell of TN and Rita (David) Clark of KY. Harold is also survived by many dear nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive guests Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor David Rushton. Interment will follow in Forest Cemetery.
