Guy H. Wiseman, Sr., age 82, of Toledo, formerly of Lambertville, Michigan, passed away Monday, February 18, 2008 at Heartland of Holly Glen Nursing Home while under the care of Hospice. He was born October 8, 1925 to Charles and Ruby (Knotts) Wiseman, Sr. in Toledo. Guy married Phyllis (Kinney) on May 4, 1946. Guy was employed with the former Suntool Machine for 20 years and Teledyne for 10 years as a Sr. Special Technician, retiring in 1988. He was also a volunteer for the Lambertville Fire Department for 17 years. Guy enjoyed working on cars and built a 1935 Auburn Speedster Kit Car and acted as the color guard captain for the Maumee Demons.
In addition to his parents, Guy was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Scott and Bonnie Wiseman and brothers, Joe Wiseman and Charles Wiseman, Jr. and grandson, Guy H. Wiseman, III. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 62 years, Phyllis; children, Guy (Kathy) Wiseman, Jr.; Gary (Carol Adkins) Wiseman; Beverly (Gary) Wingate and Susan (Andy) Nieman; grandchildren, Brian (Mary) Wiseman; Jill (Jeff) Greene; Doug Wiseman; Jeremy (Laura) Wingate; Nathaniel (Alyssa) Nieman; Kristy Wingate; Abby (Randy) Freker; Nicholes Nieman and Mandy Wingate; great grandchildren, Rigdon; Kian and Owen Freker; Jacob Wingate and Alex and Ryan Greene; sisters, Phyllis Bodine and Shirley Barron and brother, Dael Wiseman.
The family will receive guests Wednesday from 2-8:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Frank Paine. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
