Guadalupe Ballesteros

November 9, 1960 — October 31, 2022

Guadalupe "Lupe" Ballesteros, age 61, resident of Sylvania, Ohio, passed away on October 31, 2022, at Ebeid Hospice. He was born on November 9, 1960 in Laredo, Texas to the late Valentin and Margarita (Soto) Ballesteros.

Lupe went to Woodward High School, where he graduated in 1979, there he played JV baseball. During his younger years he played football through the Catholic Youth Organization and basketball through West Minster. Lupe was very talented at playing baseball; he was one of the best catchers in the city during the 70's. According to his high school team mate, he would throw out just about everyone who tried to steal a base on him. As far as everyone knew, he was the only catcher in Woodward's history to win a city championship in JV baseball. He had previously worked at Mytee Automotive for over 10 years. In his spare time, he liked to work on cars, spend time with friends, play pool, fishing and euchre, at which he always cheated at! Lupe enjoyed watching sports, especially the Ohio State Buckeyes, Minnesota Vikings, and Boston Red Sox. Most of all, family was most important in his eyes. Lupe loved the moments spent at family gatherings, especially family breakfast on Sunday's at San Marcos. His smile, love, sense of humor will forever be missed. It's not goodbye, it's see you later…

Those left to forever cherish his memory are his loving children, Danielle Ballesteros and Ryan Morelock; five grandchildren, Brandi, Reannah, Brandon, Antonio and Jacelynn; six siblings, Maria (Jaime) Banda, Alma (John) Ranker, Aida (Louis) Morin, Diane (Daryl) Houston, Val Ballesteros Jr., and Aliza (Michael) Trzonkowski; two very special uncles, Roberto Soto and Domingo Soto; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. All of which will miss Lupe.

In addition to his parents, Lupe was preceded in death and greeted in Heaven by his nephew, Troy C. Anaya Jr.
