Gregory J. Scheid

Gregory J. "Greg" Scheid, age 59, of Toledo, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2009 surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 21, 1950 to R. Louis and Constance (Cousino) Scheid in Toledo. Greg graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1968 and attended The Ohio State University. He was a buckeye fan, enjoyed golfing, sailing and taking trips with his wife. He was employed with Gem Industrial for over 20 years.

Greg is survived by his wife of 18 years, Debra Scheid; father, R. Louis Scheid; children, Christopher (Angie), Jason and Erika Scheid; grandchildren, Morgan, Patrick, Cassandra, Shannon, Chinyere and Stacie; sister, Dr. Leslie (Erik) Sprogis; step-son, Donald Vliet; special cousin, Lewis Beard; best friend, Neal Benore; special family, Barb & John Beard; father-in-law, Duane Tigges; sister-in-law, Dawn (Bill) Toth; brother-in-law, Steven (Kimm) Tigges; 1 nephew; 2 nieces; and many other friends and co-workers. He was preceded in death by his mother, Constance Scheid and mother-in-law, Betty Tigges.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday from 2–9:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd.(419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Dennis Lauman.

In lieu of flowers those wishing to make monetary donations are asked to consider the American Heart Association or an Education Fund for Greg's grandchildren c/o Key Bank.
