Gregory Scott Fawcett, 60, of Maumee, Ohio passed away May 30, 2020 at his home. He was born March 11, 1960 in Lincoln, NE to his parents: Scott and Sandra Fawcett. In addition to his parents, Greg was also preceded in death by his sister, Tracy Fawcett. He is survived by his five daughters: Katherine (Marc) Lamb, Emily, Margaret, Grace and Caroline Fawcett; and the mother of his children, Erin Fawcett.
Greg served his country in the United States Army at Baumholder, Germany and at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He was a Desert Storm war veteran, serving in the 101st Airborne Division with the 3rd Battalion, 502nd Infantry as a Company Commander. When Greg returned home from the Gulf War he was transferred to Toledo, Ohio to be an instructor for the ROTC program at the University of Toledo. He was promoted to Major during his assignment at UT. Following his military service, Greg decided to pursue a career in Education. He taught at several schools within the Catholic Diocese of Toledo. He had especially fond memories of the years he spent teaching at Holy Trinity Catholic School and serving as Assistant Dean of Men and Teacher at St. Francis DeSales High School.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, June 10th at 10:00 in the morning at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5373 Main St.
Sylvania, OH 43560. Greg will be laid to rest with a private ceremony at Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery, Sylvania, Ohio.
