Gregory A. "Greg" Bugaj of Toledo passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at West Cove Care and Rehabilitation Center, Toledo. He was born on January 12, 1960. Greg was a graduate of Roy C. Start High School and worked for Kroger for many years. He was a skilled handyman who enjoyed building and improving homes. He was especially fond of the homes in the Historic Old West End and appreciated every opportunity he had to work on them. Greg also loved spending the summers outdoors – whether it was camping, fishing, swimming, or cooking out – and was "famous" among his family and friends for his Fourth of July parties. Greg was a selfless and humble man with a good heart and a great sense of humor. He was always the life of the party.
Greg was preceded in death by his father, Robert R. Bugaj. He is survived by his mother, Phyllis Bugaj; his brother, Michael Bugaj (Lynnette); his sisters, Linda Patton (Jim), Karen and Christine; his children, Allison Staloch (Daniel), Zachary Bugaj, Nicole Bugaj, Derek Bugaj, and Tyler Bugaj; and his dear friends, Bill and Ginny Begin.
His family and friends would like to thank Dr. Warden and the staff at the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center, Ann Arbor, MI, for improving the length and quality of his last stage of life. His daughter, Allison, would like to express her gratitude for the staff at the University of Michigan – the care he received from them made it possible for him to attend her wedding.
Services in Greg's honor will be held privately. Greg will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him, however, he would not want his loved ones to mourn for very long. Instead, he would want those who loved him to crank up some Rolling Stones, crack open a few beers, and laugh about the good times.
