Greg C. Neumeyer

September 26, 1958 — December 5, 2024

Toledo, Ohio

Greg C. Neumeyer, a beloved member of the Toledo community, passed away on December 5, 2024, at the age of 66. Born on September 26, 1958, in Warren, Ohio, Greg touched the lives of many during his remarkable journey through life. He was a cherished son of the late Charles and Elaine Neumeyer, whose love and guidance shaped Greg into the warm-hearted person we all came to know.

Greg dedicated 32 years of his career to Kroger Foods, where he embraced the role of  "jack of all trades". His innate ability to connect with others meant that, over the years, he developed friendships not only among his coworkers but also with the loyal shoppers who frequented the store. Known for his vibrant personality, he had a gift for storytelling, filling each interaction with laughter and camaraderie. Greg had about “8 million stories,” he would claim, although he would chuckle and say that perhaps only one was entirely true. This flair for humor and connection endeared him to everyone he met.

In retirement, which he embarked on in January 2023, Greg continued to serve his community by running his own local grass cutting service, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to hard work and neighborly care. His passions extended beyond work; he loved to fish and hunt alongside his brother, creating cherished memories that would last a lifetime. Greg also took pride in his ability to remember everyone’s phone number by heart and had a special affection for his dogs, considering them as family.

He leaves behind his loving siblings: Sue Hanely and her husband Doug, Chuck Neumeyer and his wife Pam, Linda Chesser, and Mike Neumeyer. Greg was also a proud uncle to many—Jason Hanely, Rachel Webb, Joe Hanely, Sam Chesser, Taylor Chesser, Nick Neumeyer, Natalie Neumeyer, and Connor Neumeyer. Each of them carries a piece of Greg's legacy in their hearts, reflecting his passion for life and kindness that he spread among those he loved.

Greg’s warmth and loving spirit will be remembered by a host of extended family and friends, all of whom were blessed to call him their own. He was predeceased by his parents and nephew, Joshua Neumeyer, and while he will be missed dearly, the love he imparted will continue to resonate in the hearts of his family.

Visitation for Greg will take place on December 10, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home located at 3655 King Rd, Toledo, OH. A funeral service will follow on December 11, 2024, beginning at 1:00 PM, with a graveside service thereafter at Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Toledo Humane Society.

As we celebrate the life of Greg C. Neumeyer, let us remember not just the stories he shared but the genuine joy he brought into our lives, the laughter that echoed in our hearts, and the friendships that were forever enriched by his presence.
