Grace G. Wilmoth, 89, went home to be with her Lord Jesus on Friday, January 3, 2014, with her youngest daughter by her side at The Goerlich Center in Sylvania, Ohio, where she has been a resident since July following a fall in her son's home.
Grace was born November 19, 1924, to Davis & Daisy (Clouse) Mayberry, in Cookeville, Tennessee. Grace married Fred Wilmoth on Feb. 18, 1944, and they had three children together. They shared 61 happy years together while raising their children; they enjoyed taking vacations together to visit out-of-town relatives; helping to start the Faith Baptist Church where they have been charter members since the church was first formed. The Lord's work has always been an important part of Grace's life. Fred and Grace we're not only faithful in giving their tithes but they were faithful in attending all services. Grace was there to prepare food whenever there was a need and you could always depend on her to cook a dish or bake a cake for every fellowship dinner! When she was at home she would be busy taking care of her home and making dinner for her family. At Christmas time her grandchildren always looked forward to her "Christmas Cutout Cookies"! She loved taking care of her grandchildren whenever possible when they were young. Because taking care of her family was what was most important to Grace. She even learned to drive when she was over 50 years old! She loved all the little things of life! Grace always greeted everyone with a smile and never had a mean word to say about anyone. She always kept busy even after Fred passed away; she lived by herself for six more years where she worked outside in her yard and garden. Some friends even called her "The Energizer Bunny" when she was over 85 years old! She loved taking care of her flower garden and her bird houses. The last couple of years while living with Gary's family she enjoyed watching the birds as they would build their nests and nurse their babies. It was always the little things that brought the biggest smile to her face! And no matter how good or bad her day might have been, if you asked her "How are you doing Grace?" She would answer "I'm pretty good!" or "Real good!". But I think what I will miss most was the twinkle in her eyes when she would smile back at me and say, "Goodnight, I love You, too!"
In addition to her husband Fred Wilmoth, Grace was preceded in death by her parents, along with 5 brothers, 4 sisters, and a son-in-law.
