Goldie Rickman

Goldie Rickman, age 94, of Toledo, passed away Sunday, December 11th, 2011 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born July 29th, 1917 to Flemming and Ellie Hardin in Marion North Carolina. Goldie was employed with Morgan Linen, retiring after 16 years of service. She was a talented seamstress, making many beautiful quilts for her family to treasure. Goldie also enjoyed shopping, cooking and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her parents Goldie was preceded in death by her former husband, Van "Tex" Rickman; nephew, Albert Hardin; brothers, Charles, Vernon, Wallace, Gene, Emery, Earl, Jess and sisters, Zora, Predith Brandt, Edith Letterman and Elizabeth. She is survived by her daughters, Wilma (Joe) Skillman and Barbara Rickman; grandchildren, Carla (Joe Manning) Skillman, Tina (Richard) Wood, Joe Skillman, James Skillman and Yvonne Schumacher; great grandchildren, Sarah Pierce, Michael Pierce, Stevie Skillman, Derrick Skillman, Jessica Orcutt, Montie Rickman, Clinton (Deanna) Parsons, Timothy (Sheryl) Rickman, Richard Wood, II and Elijah Schumacher and great grandchildren, Marissa Reily, Timothy Rickman, Jr., Baylee Parsons, Ania Rickman, Nevaeh Parsons and Brook Lynn Ackerman.

The family will receive guests Wednesday from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900) with Funeral Services beginning at 12:00 p.m. Entombment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park.
